Beautiful Dawanshan

Dawanshan Island is located about 40 kilometers south of Zhuhai. It covers an area of 8.1 square kilometers and currently has a population of about 1,000 people. Most of them rely on fishing as a living.

The island is beautiful and there is a Floating Cobbles Bay that is known as an "Asian wonder" with a unique sea erosion land formation. There are the only well-preserved island quaternary period glacial relics in the country. Here, hidden among the lush primitive forest vegetation of the tropical island, is Jingyun Mountain Villa.

Bountiful Wanshan

The spirituality of Wanshan Island not only nourishes the fishermen, but also nurtures each and every life-form in the primary forest of the mountain. Hundreds of rare plants are nourished in this fertile soil.

Cultural Wanshan

Wanshan Island people usually worship Mazu, the sea goddess. Tianhou Palace, which is located on the island, was built in 1822. Mazu is enshrined in the Tianhou Palace and she has blessed the fisherman with safety for over thousand years.

Bountiful Wanshan

The Wanshan sea area is famous for it's bountiful seafood harvests. It was previously one of the six major fishing grounds in China, holding the national record for greatest catch in one net - 1,200 baskets of fish (about 60,000 kg). The island also continues the traditional craft of sun-drying raw seafood, preserving the fisherman’s lifestyle.

The Buildings
That Grew Out from the Mountains

Relying on and integrating with nature is the most important feature of The Dreamland Resort. At the initial stages of construction, Lu Junsi, the chairman of Gree Real Estate, led the design team to visit the island several times and personally revised the design drawings to maintain the original natural resources and the ecological environment, as much as possible so that The Dreamland Resort became a building that "grows out from the mountain".

From planning to completion, no tree on the mountain was chopped down. The building itself was also planned based on the giant rocks in the original mountain formation. Now, the people from Wanshan can still tell how the mountain was previous from each rock and each tree.

Integrating with the Trees

Trees are part of the memory of Wanshan. Unlike other hotels, which are built completely in accordance with the original design drawings, the drawings for Jingyun were constantly modified and the design adjusted during the construction process. The reason for this is because of the trees that have been growing here for nearly a hundred years.

Although it required more hard work, it can be seen now that the effort was clearly worth it. Today, The Dreamland Resort has integrated with the trees, each complementing and building the other. This is the legend of the trees and the blessing of nature.

One with the Water

At The Dreamland Resort, you can feel the presence of water at any time, and the layers are rich and dynamic.

The second floor of the Dreamland Resort infinity pool blends seamlessly with the ocean, as though the ocean is drawn to right in front of you. The water flows to a platform which not only waters the plants on the retaining wall, but also increases the moisture content to form a microclimate, making the surrounding trees lusher. The sound of the water droplets in the water circulation hall next to the book bar creates a Zen atmosphere.

Atmosphere Crafted through Nature-crafted Rocks

If we say that "Zen" is the biggest feature of The Dreamland Resort, then stone is one of the main elements in the forming the Zen atmosphere in The Dreamland Resort.

Here, black nature-crafted stones were built into the outer walls of the building, small paths in the garden were paved with granite, steps were made from marble, pebbles were placed under trees, and various stones were cleverly blended together, fully realizing the various characteristics and charm of the structures.
